Sonya Sawin
Sonya Sawin graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991 with a BS in Interior Design. She received notable recognition in 2000 when her project won the Austin ASID (American Society of Interior Design) award for Best Home Under 3500 SF, which was featured in the Austin American Statesman.
From 1998 to 2008, Sonya actively participated in every Symphony Showhouse and Parade of Homes, showcasing her talent and creativity. In 2023, her work was published in LUXE magazine, further establishing her reputation in the industry.
Sonya is also an engaged member of the Student Advisory Council at her alma mater, the University of Texas at Austin. Her passion for interior design has been evident since childhood, as she often directed movers on where to place furniture during her family's frequent relocations. With a deep understanding of construction and an exceptional eye for detail, she remains at the forefront of design trends, earning a loyal clientele.
On a personal note, Sonya is married to Steve, in Law Enforcement. They have two sons: Max, who serves as a medic in the US Navy, and Stefan, who is serving with the US Army. The family also has a dog named Fritzi.

Heather Toolin
A proud Native Texan, Heather's design journey began at the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her BS in Interior Design. Launching her career in hospitality, she spent six years mastering commercial design, from law and medical offices to financial institutions. Her transition to restaurant and residential design in 2003 marked a new chapter, showcasing her passion and dynamic personality.
Heather's commitment to the design community led her to open a To the Trade Furniture Showroom, which she managed for twelve years, marked by exciting global projects and recognition in publications like Better Homes and Gardens and Architectural Digest. Today, she is an active member of the Student Advisory Council at the University of Texas at Austin, focused on expanding her independent design practice with diverse projects that highlight her creativity.
Outside of design, Heather enjoys simple pleasures like experimenting with new recipes, tending to her garden, and playful moments with her children and Wally, her Wire Hair Fox Terrorist. She is actively involved as an alum with her sorority Kappa Delta at the University of Texas at Austin, and serves on the student advisory council at The University of Texas at Austin.
